NEWS

Wednesday is a practice day lasting from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. Members wanting to stay should sign up on the list posted on Mrs. Buttry's door.
A dinner-theater event as a fundraiser is planned for late October. Members who want to be in the play, come to play practice as announced on the whiteboard in the lobby.

Pay your Dues

The yearly dues of ten dollars and zero cents ($10.00) must be paid in full before you are allowed to participate in any tournaments.

Guidelines for Speech

Students who wish to compete in speech and dramatic competitions with other area high schools are encouraged to join Speech Team. After-school practices are held once a week with sign-ups on Mrs. Buttry's door. Tournaments are held at several schools in our area, and students can earn trophies and certificates for top places in their specific category.

Members will pay yearly dues of $10, which is used for purchase of material for students and also for tickets and transportation to one or more theatrical events attended by the group.

New members are permitted to attend one tournament as an observer, but thereafter as a participant. All students who sign up for tournament competitions at area high schools will participate on the date designated. The only exceptions for missing a tournament date are for medical emergencies, accidents, and family deaths.

Behavior of students at after-school practices, at the tournaments, and on the bus being transported to the high schools will be the same conduct expected at school. At any time during the year, anyone not following the behavior code will be dropped from Speech Team membership and dues will not be refunded.
